Born and raised in Italy, Aria emigrated to the US twenty years ago.
Italian culture, folklore and romanticism for life has always been an immense part of her story.
In New York, she spent her time practicing her craft in her own studio, while frequenting The Art Students League school in Manhattan, as well as assisting prolific artists of the NYC Art contemporary art scene.
She obtained an Art diploma from Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music & Art then continuing her studies at CUNY Hunter College, receiving a BA in Art with concentration in drawing. She also spent an intense summer residency at Palazzo Spinelli in Florence, Italy, restoring ancient paintings.
Aria's work is infused with her love for the relationship that exists between humans, emotions, nature, mythology, animals and folklore.
Through her paintings she seeks to represent that thin line between the conscious and unconscious world.
Recently, she decided to open a little shop called "Arte Arcana", which mission is to honor imperfect, handmade objects made by hand, with ordinary materials and which purpose is to connect to people on a spiritual level, while honoring folklore art, its' primitive simplicity and how it evokes a sense of dignity\sentiment in both artist and people who purchase the work.
